Transformer Rectifier (TR)

The transformer rectifier (TR) may be produced with different controls upon request (or according to cathodic

protection design). Air cooled TRs are designed for applications where lower current units are required, generally

up to 50 amperes. They are suitable for environments in ambient temperatures up to 55°C whether indoors or

outside. The units are generally smaller and of lighter weight than oil cooled transformer rectifiers and are particularly

suited to non-hazardous areas where the size and weight of oil cooled TR would make installation prohibitive. Oil

cooled transformer rectifiers are ideally suited to heavy duty applications in arduous environments with ambient

temperatures up to 55°C and are available with current ratings of up to 400 amperes.
